From my family, to yours

Here's to a happy and healthy holiday season to you and yours!

I'd like to use this occasion to share a bit about my family. These close relationships have helped shape who I am and what I'm doing as Oregon's Attorney General.

I come from a big family. Seven siblings! Josh, shown in this photo with Mom and me, is the youngest and has Down's syndrome. He truly brings his special touch to all who come in contact with him. A card-carrying union member, he works at the student center at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and has lived in the same group home near Mom for three decades.

Mom is 93 and pretty amazing herself! She goes to current events classes at the library and still loves a good argument. Her memory challenges her. But her walking pace is breathtaking!

Josh and Mom have been two of my rocks since forever. I hope you have important people like them in your life, too.

I wish you all the best – and thank you for your support. It's made a huge difference.

Ellen

P.S. Save the date! January 10 is my birthday fundraiser and I want to celebrate with you (for the sixth year since becoming AG!) The event will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Details to follow.
